Our Mission
Our mission is to support country-level efforts to sustainably strengthen surgical systems to provide timely, affordable, and safe surgical care for all.
Our priority activities:
1. Provide technical assistance to countries in developing national surgical care strengthening strategies and plans.
2. Assist with country-specific comprehensive surgical care financing strategies to fund and implement the surgical plans.
3. Facilitate the implementation of national surgical plans through leveraging partnerships and innovative financing strategies.

Sierra Leone
Sierra Leone’s first and only neurosurgeon, Dr. Alieu Kamara, launched the country’s inaugural neurosurgery program in early 2025, bringing critical care to eight million people and marking a historic step forward.
